Úplný popis pracovní pozice:

EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency - monitoring the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Working for EUMETSAT, you can make a world of difference and be a part of something that makes a positive impact on society. You will be at the cutting edge of satellite technology, with a meaningful role in an organisation focused on space-based observations of the Earth’s weather and climate.

EUMETSAT operates a growing fleet of Earth observation satellites, currently 12 satellites comprising four Meteosat geostationary (GEO) satellites of the Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) and Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) series, and two Metop low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. A further five Meteosat Third Generation and six Metop Second Generation satellites are currently in preparation for launch.

Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure and working closely with the IT Infrastructure Competence Area Managers, this new role within EUMETSAT will provide a unification function across IT Infrastructure to ensure that the entire Division is driving in a consistent approach for its technical strategy, technical architecture, service delivery and delivery prioritisation.

In the near term, the primary objective for this Senior IT Infrastructure role is to help drive the organisation to a service-based Infrastructure Delivery (PaaS) approach, coupled with the adoption of Virtual/Cloud computing platform for application delivery.

What you’ll be doing

· The role will provide a central point of direction and oversight for IT Infrastructure, bringing together the technical design and delivery aspects from the relevant technical functions within IT Infrastructure.

· EUMETSAT governs its delivery via Functional Area Management Boards (FAMBs) which are responsible for providing oversight and governance for specific functions. There is a dedicated FAMB for IT Infrastructure, and this post will act as one of the Co-Chairs of this Board.

· The Technical Ownership for IT Infrastructure Multi-Mission (PaaS) Service Delivery will belong with this role where it spans more than one of the IT Infrastructure Competency Areas.

· The IT Infrastructure Procurement function will report into this role to ensure that the procurement approach is consistent across IT Infrastructure and also that the actual procurements align to the defined strategic direction and technical architecture.

What we offer

· Excellent salary, of up to Euro 9,500 NET (after tax) based on skills and experience;

· Flexible working time including additional flexi-leave;

· Full medical coverage for employee and family;

· Attractive pension;

· 30 days of annual leave + 14.5 days public holidays;

· Training and development support;

· Relocation allowance and support (if applicable).

Requirements

Qualifications

· University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or relevant discipline.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

· Experience of providing IT Infrastructure technical leadership at a senior level.

· Confident person able to drive and control governance boards / project boards / technical design authority boards or similar with specific outcomes and actions.

· Excellent at cross-team collaboration, direction setting and delegation at a senior level.

· Resilient and mindful leadership style to drive technical change within a conservative and risk adverse sector.

· Experience of working in an IT Infrastructure function within a large-scale organisation is essential.

· Clear thinker with well-structured proactive approach.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ENGLISH. WE WILL BE UNABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED IN OTHER LANGUAGES.

EUMETSAT is an international organisation employing staff from across all 30 member states and this role is being advertised on multiple international job boards, but please note that this role would be based in Darmstadt, Germany and would require international applicants to relocate if successful.
