The Role

As a Content Writer in our Marketing Department, you will be the voice of OAK’S LAB. You will play a key role in shaping and evolving our written communication strategies and outputs. You will develop a deep understanding of our target audience, our competitors, and the market in which we operate. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, People, and senior leadership, you will create and implement cohesive and compelling reading experiences across various channels.

Your role will be divided into three core areas:

  • Copywriting: Creation of written material aimed at selling our service.

  • Content Creation: Creation of written material that aims to educate, inform, or entertain our target audience.

  • SEO Optimized Content: Optimizing content to ensure it achieves higher search engine rankings and is therefore more visible online.

Reporting to our Head of Marketing, you will contribute to two main goals of the marketing strategy:

  • Client Acquisition: Create assets to help us attract startups, scaleups, and enterprise clients.

  • Talent Acquisition: Create assets to increase our employer brand within the Czech Republic.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy and Execution

  • Thought leadership within custom software development: Simplify complex or high-level ideas into actionable content strategies that support our marketing efforts and position us as leaders in the custom software development space.

  • Target Audience Research: Conduct thorough online research and interviews with clients, industry experts, and internal teams to ensure your copy resonates with the audience's needs and desires.

  • Brand Guidelines: Ensure all content meets our editorial standards, including style, tone, and voice.

  • Editing: Edit and proofread work to ensure content is accurate, informative, and engaging, correcting spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.

  • Iterate Based on Feedback: Revise content based on internal and sometimes external feedback.

  • AI: Proactively learn and apply the latest AI advancements in your work.

  • Testing: Use A/B testing and data analysis to refine the effectiveness of your copy.

Channels

  • Social Media: Create short-form copy for our social media campaigns.

  • Email: Craft compelling email copy for marketing campaigns, newsletters, and announcements.

  • Video Content: Craft compelling scripts for diverse video projects, including podcast questionnaires, and lead storyboard development for video/animation/motion.

  • SEO: Conduct in-depth keyword research and strategically utilize keywords in the content creation process.

  • Web Content: Create and optimize website copy to enhance user experience and convey the value of our services and solutions.

  • Paid Media Copywriting: Experience in crafting compelling copy for paid media campaigns across platforms like Meta, Google, TikTok, and Microsoft Ads.

Content pieces

  • Whitepapers: Research and analyze complex technology topics to create comprehensive whitepapers.

  • Communication projects: Submit our company for relevant award submissions.

  • Press releases: Launch and maintain the press release section of the website.

  • E-newsletter: Curate and create content for our monthly newsletter.

  • Blogs: Write engaging and shareable blog posts that highlight the benefits of our solutions and analyze current trends in the tech industry.

Qualitative & quantitative research

  • Industry Relations: Build and maintain relationships with industry experts and influencers and leverage them for quotes and data.

  • Internal Relations: Collaborate with subject matter experts to create business, technical, and engineering content.

  • Data Collection: Research and curate background information and insights to be used in our content.

Skills & Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably in a technology or B2B environment

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing strategies

  • Proficiency in content management systems

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of writing styles and formats

  • Good understanding of the relationship between copy and design

  • Strong familiarity with AP Style and writing in American English

  • Storytelling skills, with a curious mindset to discern the motivations, behaviors, and preferences of our audiences

  • Impeccable eye for detail

Nice to Have

  • Background in B2B, technology industry, startups, or VC industry

  • Native-level English
